LAS VEGAS (AP) — Manny Pacquiao put on yet another dominating performance Saturday night, knocking down Miguel Cotto twice and turning his face into a bloody mess before finally stopping him 55 seconds into the 12th round.
Pacquiao used his blazing speed and power from both hands to win his seventh title in seven weight classes and cement his stature as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Cotto took such a beating that his face was a river of red from the fury of Pacquiao’s punches.
Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a right hand early in the third round, but he wasn’t badly hurt and came back to finish the round strong. But after Pacquiao put Cotto on the canvas with a big left hand as Cotto was advancing forward late in the fourth round, Cotto was never the same again.
Cotto fought gamely but in the later rounds he was just trying to survive as blood flowed down his face and Pacquiao kept coming after him relentlessly.

Mooncake is a Moscow post-rock band founded early 2006 comprised of two guitars, a bass, cello/keyboards and drums. Since then the band has made a name for itself having developed its own style and become quiet popular among connoisseurs of genre both home and abroad.
Most critics emphasize that Mooncake have successfully revised such conservative genre as post-rock and its clichés. In the end the band came up with its own style and sound that one can easily recognize. Their tracks are very atmospheric complying fast, positive and catchy melodies on the one hand and basilisk, ponderate canvases on the other. The ideal balance between rapture and grief has always been Mooncake’s distinctive feature.
By now Mooncake performed at one stage together with such bands as Explosions In The Sky, Russian Circles, God Is An Astronaut, Mum, Somebody Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Dalek.
In summer 2007 Mooncake released their debut single “More Oxygen, I Said…” that was warmly welcomed by listeners and received promising reviews. Since then Mooncake started performing permanently at top clubs of Moscow like “16 Tons”, “B2″, “Ikra”, “B1″, etc.
In February 2008 the band began recording its first LP.
By May 2008 the CD “Lagrange Points” was finally released. The LP was deeply appreciated both by listeners and critics. TheSillentBallet.com - the largest resource on instrumental music - published a rapt review of “Lagrange Points” having graded it 8 points out of possible 10.
Later in summer 2008 Mooncake was signed to an independent US label “Cavity Records” that released a digital version of “Lagrange Points”.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” who once moonwalked above the music world, died Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.
Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.
“It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known,” his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.
Jackson’s death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music’s premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.
His 1982 album “Thriller” - which included the blockbuster hits “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller” - is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.
At the time of his death, Jackson was rehearsing hard for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13.

BIOGRAPHY:
DETACHED saw their beginnings in 2002. They assumed a hard rock, in-your-face punk sound and added clever transitions to make a strange and unique blend that gives much respect to artists like Henry Rollins, Muse, Chevelle, My Vitriol and Jim Croce. The quartet is Michael Dinopol (vocalist and coincidentally the younger and more angst-driven brother of John Dinopol of Urbandub), Jeffrin Daan (guitarist), Luther Daan (drums) and Lyndon Daan (bass). The band has moved around different circles, playing various gigs around Cebu and has also delved in writing and performing original music. Their single “Numbers” has gained decent airplay in Cebu’s 93.1 Smash FM and Killer Bee 92.3 station. Today the band is going through an initiation that most Cebu bands have to go through before gaining music success: the struggle to please the ear of the South. DETACHED, however, remains unfazed about this obstacle. They write, they play and continue to find various ways to get their music recorded and heard by those who refuse to listen. The Cebu quartet is currently making songs on their upcoming album “Numbers”, with the tracks in their hands this should cement their position as one of Cebu’s rock acts. Marking a burning desire for rebirth after many ups and downs, YUP!!! Detached means business this time around…..
